The Ayon CD-35 II is probably the most sophisticated CD player on the market, featuring a tube power supply and tube output stage, combined with phenomenal digital conversion at the limits of what is technically possible today. It connects the digital world of technology with the analog sensory world of human experience in an ultimate way.

Typical for Ayon is the exceptional flexibility. The excellent tube output stage can also be made available to other devices via two analog inputs. In combination with the switchable, 4-step symmetrical volume control using discrete resistors, the CD-35 II Signature can also be used as a preamplifier!

The Signature option also offers digital processing that, if desired, not only upsamples all incoming digital signals (including those from the CD player itself), but also converts them into a DSD stream—the original SACD format. This allows bit-precise selection of various PCM formats and reconverts them, unlike standard upsampling. This enables the CD-35 II Signature to reach the absolute pinnacle of musical reproduction, enhanced by the use of special components such as silver capacitors!

Its sound is more resolved, deeper and darker - it is closer to the sound of an analog tape than to a vinyl record. The treble has a more natural attack and decay with it, and the bass reaches deeper - by the way, the whole tonal balance is set lower with it

The new Ayon Audio CD player is one of the best devices of this type available on the market, regardless of the price. It outperforms the CD-35 MkI (the basic version), because it sounds more energetic, cleaner and even more saturated. If SACDs are not your priority, I don't see any flaws in it. Yes, the bass is bit „turned up” and you have to confront it with your own system. But it is a compact, dense and multi-colored bass, with an excellent focus.

The midrange is saturated and dense, making the vocals beautiful in their "presence". They will be moved a bit closer to us, but this is what digital sources usually lack - here we have it for free. It is a sophisticated source with great functionality that will be an owner’s pride in any advanced, sophisticated audio system.
